Chrome Color Emoji on Linux

Out of the box, Google Chrome browser on Linux does not render colored emoji fonts, like those shown on my door.  The following remedies that issue for me:
Install these Google fonts:

$ sudo dnf install google-noto-emoji-fonts google-noto-emoji-color-fonts
$ sudo dnf install google-noto-mono-fonts
$ sudo dnf install google-noto-sans-fonts
$ sudo dnf install google-noto-serif-fonts

Next, create your fontconfig to use them:

$ mkdir .config/fontconfig
$ cat > .config/fontconfig/fonts.conf <<EOD
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<fontconfig>
<alias><family>sans-serif</family>
  <prefer>
    <family>NotoSans</family>
    <family>NotoColorEmoji</family>
    <family>NotoEmoji</family>
  </prefer>
</alias>
<alias><family>serif</family>
  <prefer>
    <family>NotoSerif</family>
    <family>NotoColorEmoji</family>
    <family>NotoEmoji</family>
  </prefer>
</alias>
</fontconfig>
EOD

Then execute to take effect:

$ fc-cache -f -v
